The Graduate Trainee route is for overseas workers who are undertaking temporary work assignments in the UK, where the worker is on a graduate training course leading to a senior management or specialist position and is required to do a work placement in the UK. It replaces the intra-Company Graduate Trainee route.
This is a points based application. You must score 60 points in total.

Applicant must be employed by the sponsoring organisation at the time of application, and have worked for that organisation outside of the UK for at least 3 months previous to the application deadline.
The applicant must have sponsorship for a qualified job with a standard salary of at least £23,100 per year for that position or whatever is the ‘going rate’ for the job role. They should also have a clearly defined progression toward a management or specialist function within the sponsor organisation as part of a structured graduate training programme.
The candidate must also have a valid Certificate of Sponsorship for the position they’re applying for, provided by an employer that has been approved to sponsor a Graduate Trainee by the UK Home Office.
How long you can stay
You can stay in the UK with a Graduate Trainee visa for whichever is shorter of:
the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days
You cannot apply to change (‘switch’) to a Graduate Trainee visa from inside the UK because you need to have worked for your employer overseas for 3 months immediately before you apply.
Family members eligible to join:
A Graduate Trainee can bring their dependents which include the spouse, unmarried partner and children under the age of 18.
